Both federal and state statutes provide benefits, privileges and preferences for the welfare of veterans, spouses and dependents.

One specific program is called “Aid and Attendance” program which is available to veterans or the spouses of deceased veterans. Veterans receive a monthly check that is deposited into their bank account.

Applicants must meet the requirements of a medical, income, and asset test to qualify for benefits.  Aid and Attendance benefits are very complicated to prepare, and should be prepared by an elder law attorney specializing in veteran’s benefits.
